As we celebrate Youth Day, we pay tribute to the resilience and determination of Zambia’s young people. Despite facing formidable challenges, we continue to push forward, driven by our passion for a better future.
We acknowledge the struggles of the young farmers, who travel over 100km to access inadequate farming inputs, yet still manage to cultivate the land and produce a bounty. We recognize the resourcefulness of the young entrepreneurs, who navigate poor road conditions to transport their produce to market. And we remember the deserving youth, who are denied equal opportunities due to political affiliation.
Today, on Youth Day, we amplify our voices and demand that we be heard. We call upon leaders and policymakers to acknowledge the plight of Zambia’s youth and take concrete actions to address these challenges.
We urge you to:
– Improve access to adequate farming inputs and resources
– Invest in infrastructure development, including roads and transportation systems
– Promote equal opportunities for all youth, regardless of political affiliation
May this Youth Day mark a turning point in the history of Zambia, where the voices of the youth are finally heard and valued. May our struggles be recognized, and our contributions celebrated.
We stand with you, Zambia’s youth, and demand a brighter future for all.
